At 4:24 pm, TVF&R was dispatched to the scene of a head-on/rollover motor vehicle crash on Highway 99 at Cipole Road near Tualatin. First-arriving crews found two vehicles approximately 50 yards apart, with both drivers trapped and injured inside. TVF&R Firefighters utilized specialized rescue tools to extricate the drivers, while administering advanced life support medical care to the drivers. Firefighters had both drivers extricated from their vehicle within 22 minutes. Both drivers were entered into the trauma system and transported to OHSU – one via Life Flight, the other by Metro West ambulance.
The 2nd alarm medical response brought six TVF&R units, two ambulances, and Life Flight to the scene.
The incident is being investigated by Tualatin Police Department.
