Questions About Your Property Tax Bill? – Here Are Some Answers

Taxpayers in TVF&R’s district are getting their property tax bills.  TVF&R has produced the above video to help explain the connection between your tax bill and the services TVF&R provides.

In its first year of operation in 1989, Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue had a property tax rate of $2.56/$1,000 of assessed value.  A series of mergers and annexations over the next two decades increased the size of the District, encouraged greater cost efficiency, and caused the tax rate to decline.

The 2009 TVF&R tax rate is $1.89/$1,000 and pays fire suppression, emergency medical response, fire prevention, Hazmat, water and technical rescue.  The rate is five cents higher than last year because of bond construction projects which were approved by voters in 2006.
