TVF&R Firefighters Battle Brush Fire

DSCN0589

Firefighters from Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue successfully battled a fast moving brush fire that started in blackberry bushes in the Bethany area.  The fire started just before 4:30 p.m. in Bethany Meadows Park in Washington County.  The first arriving fire crews found flames torching through large blackberry brambles and moving towards a neighborhood.

Firefighters called for additional resources and began attacking the flames. The park is surrounded by homes and large power lines run directly through the area that was on fire.

Firefighters worked quickly to stop the fire’s spread towards nearby homes and were able to limit the damage to the wooden support structures to the power lines.

No homes were damaged.

A TVF&R investigator is working to determine the cause of the fire.
